Here's a few progress pics of the van frame replacement. It's kinda cool and not really hard at all. I took the engine and transmission out together along with most of the exhaust and anything else I could leave attached. It's really easy to work on these things without that pesky body in the way. I ended up lifting the body off with the overhead crane and some nylon straps. Set the new frame right next to the old bent one and started swapping stuff over. Almost done just waiting on a new brake line before I can put the body back on. The rest of the mangled parts can be replaced with the body on.

Cool, what are you going to do with the bent up van body? Is it going to the body shop after your done with the frame swap?

Yep. It's all done. Well, as done as I can make it. It's ready to go to the body shop.

My boss was funny. I asked him how much I needed to do because I didn't know if he just wanted it towable quick (we're moving out of that shop) or as done as I could make it. He said he wanted to drive it out of the shop. I laughed. He didn't. He wasn't kidding. I had to explain to him that since there was no front end on the body there was no place to put the radiator, the MAF sensor, the air filter box, etc.

He looked at me and said, "Oh, ok".

Then, he wants me to order all the fenders, hood, windshield, everything that was wrecked and needed to be replaced. I told him we needed to get with the body shop and see what they were going to do, whether it be to cut off and replace the front end of the body or straighten the existing sheet metal. He said, "Oh, ok". I'm sure they will cut off the front clip and replace it. Seems like less work.

Here are some more pics of the latter part of the process. Had to do some pounding on the parts where the body bolts go into the body. The whole body was forced back a bit on the frame and made the bolts go in at an angle.
