This day is always a sad day, I still recall waking up and seeing the horror on every single channel.

I was not directly effected but every time I go down to NYC and see the skyline from the highway it always reminds me of what's missing and how it was lost.

I don't have a flag. I do remember this day every year, I don't think I will forget. It is one of those things that you remember what you where doing when it all went down, like some people talk of Kennedy being assassinated.

I can recall exactly where I was and what I was doing all those years ago with incredible clarity.
History defining moment for sure and I still haven't quite got over it tbh.

I won't be flying the stars and stripes anytime soon since I'm from the UK.
We don't really do flags over here.

I was 7 or 8 I think. Even in Belgium, everybody was in complete shock. I didn't really understand what happened at first.

I was at work listening to Howard Stern (when he was on regular radio) when the first plane hit. Everyone thought it was an accident.

A sad day it was. It's still weird when you think about it.

I was getting ready for school.

It seems like it happened so recently. It's hard to believe its been 9 years.

I can recall all the events that happened that day, but it really didn't effect me emotionally like most people. Part of that is because no one that died meant anything to me. They weren't family or friends, just complete strangers. Still my condolences to those who did lose someone that day.

I'm amazed Americans have flags outside their houses. That's very patriotic.

I remember it happened during my first week at high school. I came home just after the 2nd plane crash, and my dad had watched the whole thing on the news. It was a totally surreal thing to watch on tv, and I don't thing the scale of it really sunk in until I got older. Such a tragic event, my heart goes out to all those lost on 9/11.

    ps. ilkman - it's 8, isn't it? 2001...

How would one forget 9/11? The date itself even was ironic.

Only if you use that form of date, and you use that emergency number.

Yeah - 9/11 has no significance date-wise over here.
5/11 on the other hand is infamous in English history in that it's bonfire night and Guy Fawkes tried (and almost suceeded) in blowing up the houses of parliment & everyone in it.
Still, it's terrorism and we made that f*cker pay big style.
Weird how we actually 'celebrate' it though with festivities.

My mom woke me up after the first plane hit. I was awake for the second and saw it. I was driving to work when the first one fell. Traffic was slow moving that day. I also listened to Howard Stern, first time I had ever heard him live, He is typically tape delayed here.

First national day of service, I guess.

Honestly, I think the WTC should be rebuilt. It be a big **** you to the guys who destroyed them and monument to those who died.
