UE2 - UT2kX 3D rendering software?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

So I understand that some people use a separate program to create their static meshes and then transport them into the UTed. What program is best to use for that? And once you've this program to create a static mesh, how do you transport it into the ed to have it recognized by the game?

I use 3DS Max and Blender for all my static mesh. Easy to use (3DS Max that is) and a lot of tutorials out there to help along the way. In a pinch (when I am lazy) I also found a lot of free mesh's out there already built. Just be sure to give the author their dues in the map, I normally place notes near the mesh's with all the authors information and a link to the mesh's origins. Never borrow and claim victory, man up and give credit due where it belongs. You can find me around the ODC servers anytime and I can point you in the right direction.
