I posted this originally to the Nalicity mapping forum, but singe not that many people were interrested, I decided to post it here also.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone releases a 2k4 versions of their ut2k3 maps, but improves them based on user comments and/or reviews. Well, if the layout is totally bad, it may be impossible to make a decent map out of it, even if major improvements are done. However, all those maps that have scored 5-8/10, could very well be improved.

The consequences if this would be done:

    1. Better maps for the community!

    2. Custom maps could be played more (at least in theory).

So, if anyone has the time and is willing to do this, please do! Everyone will have a benefit. I think 2k4 is a good reason to improve the previous maps.

I think most mappers will convert them and possibly enhance them slightly. Im working on mine atm.

Well 2k4 can do the conversion work: you don't actually have to load it in the editor and save like it was rumored to be. But I just mean that this is a good change to release a new version of those maps that could be improved, so that they would be better and get played more.

I would hope that's what map authors are doing rather than boring, straight ports.
