2D Tournament Lives!

    Yes, 2D Tournament will live again! I contacted k0lpA if I could use his code to work on the UT2004's version and he was ok with that :D.
    It's pretty close to finished at the moment, if it will be released it will be included in the Unreal4Ever package, it will not be released as a seperate 2DT mod.
    This new version will include serveral new features:
    • New gametypes: Onslaught, Assault and it's also possible to play compatible custom gametypes from other mods.
    • New aiming system. You can now choose to aim like 2DT2003 or with a 'cursor' on the screen.
    • Top-down view. You can play with the camera above your character.
    • Paper Style. Yes, as flat as a piece of paper.
    All the maps of 2DT2003 can be used in U4E2D.
    There is still a problem though (I bet this is solved in no-time :D), there are no 2D maps for Onslaught and Assault. Also top-down view requires new maps.
    The good part is that Unreal4Ever is holding a map-contest, this also includes U4E2D! The maps must have U4E content (like weapon-pickups) to win.
    The prices are:
    1st Place - One Brand new US Sony PSP (or $200, winner's option)
    2nd Place - $50
    3rd Place - $25

    This is great news. Although I'm a little bummed that 2DT won't be it's own standalone mod anymore. Oh well...

    You can make the maps just like you would make maps for 2DT2003, but the release is very soon so you can also wait a few days...

    U4E2D (beta) is released as a seperate package. No need for you to download the whole U4E-package, but only U4E2D.

    my last final exam is this week, after that I'll buy UT04(because I'm disappointed of MMORPGs)
    good to know that there will be a 2d mod waiting for me :)

    kinda freaky that i started to build on one kinda old map i started ages ago...
    didnt have internet for like 4 months(poor me) and got bored ^^

    anyway i need some help with the pathchanger...
    1) im not really sure how to use it(thought there was a howto somewhere...)
    2) could u use pathchangers via a trigger? like you walk ove a certain location and the game tells u that u can hit the use key to change direction. would be great if that was possible!
    im not too got at uscript so i dont get what k0lpa did...but maybe somebody else can help me...

    anyways hope to see you guys sometime!

    [edit] that map is for ctf. will upload a pre pre pre alpha with only some parts of the map being nearly beta ^_^
    oh and if there is a moddeler whos bored and wants to help me...^_^
    gonna get internet on wednesday!(hopefully)

    you've to link the pathchanger to 2 points:
    in both cases the direction the player will go to(there should be a k0lp example map with a pathchanger, only thing you've to do is to change the pathnode names)

    my tip is to link it to the starting point of a player and other pathchanger, because if you link it to pathnodes it can happen that the node is a bit off the way and you aren't on the same line like the other players anymore
