How can I use Anim8or for UT modeling?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

There is a great free modeling program at anim8or.com, and I've been modeling with it for a couple of months now. I've been trying to make player models latley, but I haven't bothered to finish anything because I still don't know how to export correctly with this program. I didn't know if anyone knew if there was a way to export an8 files to anything that I could get in to UT.

I don't think that this is useable...

Get Milkshape. That's also free and it can export UT model formats...but as Epic released the Skeletal Animation for the models you can't do anything up to date without 3D Studio Max and Character Studio... :(

Then sure...Download it.

I have 3DS so I'm not perfectly sure about the capabilities of other software...I used MS for a short time but it didn't support Skeletal anims that time...

But I think you'll need Character Studio anywayz...a/o it must support the .3ds format.

Well, Anim8or can export into 3ds, but it can't export the skeliton or animation. I guess I'll buy MS. Since I'm comfortable modeling in Anim8or, I'll still use that, but now I'll just learn to animate in MS :)
