One of the big buzzes at E3 this year was Microsoft's Project Natal, something that could truly revolutionize gaming as we know it. Now, Mark Rein has said that none other than Unreal Engine 3 was used to create the Ricochet and Paint Party demos.

"The ricochet game and the paint party game are Unreal Engine 3, so we're obviously the first technology on the new platform which is kinda cool," the Vice President of Epic Games revealed in an interview that's appearing in the 50th issue of OXM UK.

A simple way would be by stepping forward or backwards.
For the driving demo they just put their foot forward and Natal realised this meant accelerate. Could translate that to human movement too. Foot forward = move forward, foot under body = no movement, foot backwards = move backwards.

But as the Natal dev team said, it's not suitable for all types of games and is more of an interface add-on.

btw. June news ;P
