Right off the bat I'd like to give my gratitude and admiration to DC. Beyond the technical skills that youve shared with us on a day to day basis over by the coding forum, you've been a great inspiration to us all and this product here (UWindow2) is no different.
It is with great honour that I download and use it, thank you
Thanks!
OOOoohhh James!!! Add a bot window like UT1 had, then win the biggest cookie a person could get for doing something about UT3.
Part of the great plan is to bring back all the GUI features that we say in UT and UT2004 [if any].
I really liked it too, but I have some serious issues with my controls. For one, It doesn't save them, they always go back to default every time I start a game, and for two, there's some keys I can't even bind in the control panel. Namely Middle mouse and Left shift (But worked once)
I'll have a look into this. I think it has to do with the profile system. By default UWindow2 loads the offline default profile, called Player. This could potentially reset the keys back to defaults as you've noticed. I'll look into this.
Congratulation on all this (Thank god no more menu loading time ****), however, I can't stand playing with the default control, so until it can't be fixed, I won't be using it.
I'll try to fix it. I don't play the game much, so thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Everything seems to be working fine for me other then that I cant click some options such as Start "Unreal Tournament or "Start Unreal Tournament Redemption".
Yes. Various of the menu options have been disabled because I did not finish them in time for MSUC, which is this build of uWindow2. Future builds should include this.
I also am unable to see any servers within the server browser
There can be a few reasons. First, make sure you log in with your online profile. Unfortunately, uWindow2 cannot make profiles right now, so you'll have to boot UT3 normally to create an online profile. Secondly, make sure that your CD Key as described in the readme is sorted. Once you log on with a valid CD Key, you should be able to see matches and connect to them.
I take it that this won't be compatible with MapMixer..
Unsure exactly how MapMixer works in a lot of regards, but I will probably make my own version of it.
Amazing, downloading now. Snake i notice in the readme you talk about in game IRC chat. Are you planning on bringing back this feature too?
If possible, depending on circumstances, I will try to bring this feature back with uWindow2.
Incredible. Delectable. Edible.
This is definately a step in the right direction. Given a little more time to be worked on, this would seriously kick ass!!! Its not detecting certain keyboard buttons as well. I need my right shift since im a lefty Middle mouse not working too.
Ok, I'll have a look into these. I have not tested the key binding system extensively, as you'll know doubt tell.
Not picking up on custom mutators.
Hmm, ok, I shall look into this one too.
I know this may sound silly but, out of curiosity, would it be possible to use custom ini's in the UWindow folder of default ini's? This way I can copy my characters/user ini settings into it?
There are a few config settings that I override in UWindow2, so you may need to looad the differences between them. Notably, UTEngine and UTGame.
There is no background and redish style for me. Just white background and greyish menus. Anyone?
If you have the white background, have you tried the older builds of UWindow2? If you have, you'll need to check that UT3 isn't loading the older themes. The old themes may be stored within UTGame\Config\UWindow, or stored within the My Documents folders. By default, UWindow2 is not colored, and you use the colorizer to set your own colors.
Looks good with one exception - what's up with that fugly cursor? I hope I'm not forced with that.
You're not forced to use it, as you can edit the theme yourself to acquire different cursor looks. However, the cursor was just taken from Unreal Tournament as I did not have a lot of time to make fancy cursors.
