I cannot get the various light types(pulse, etc) to work. I can choose tehm and it loks like its working in the editor but when I actually play the level, its still steady. Any ideas?

Doh! use a trigger light!

Hourences should look into things a little deeper, if you add a trigger light (found under light in the actor browser) and set it to initially on (under trigger light properties) you can set it to strobe or whatever and it shows in game. If it doesnt work get back to me and Ill have another look for you, just remember that the internet has solutions to most unreal probs and dont believe every thing you read on a forum!

Thanks for the input it looks great. I tried to match the light pulse to that one room in E1M5 of Doom.

Here are the best Tutorials I have found, And i went searching for a while.
Check them out. They might not all be specific to lighting. But all have lighting sections i believe. They have helped me alot.
