So many people are talking about movement lately and how it is or is not different between UTXMP and U2XMP. Since there is a UTXMP video showing some nice stuff what can be done in the new mod, I thought I would make a video showing some stuff that can be done in the original U2XMP. This way people completely new to XMP can take a brief look at what many of the 'vets' have been doing for one year now and are still doing.

No hacks, cheats or whatever were used while making this video. This is pure U2XMP. :)

Fileinformation: 50MB xvid/mp3
get it here.

Since the movie is released as an torrent, please keep your torrent-clients running for a while after you got the full download and help me seeding it a bit, thx.

Greetings to all the folk at *=)IAS(=*

PS: I miss tripmine and concussion jumps in UTXMP :(

Thanks for the link, Towanda. Windows Media Player couldn't open it, and Divx player only made it 41 secs until I ran that fixer.
Cyb, that file may be corrupt.

Oops, forgot to say Nice Jumps! I wish I could do half those, but I suck for wall jumps. I can jump into and away for extra height ocassionally, but the one where you start off on the ground... So, you touch the wall, then move away-jump-move-jump real quick, right? Can't get it.

GotBeer?: I'm not sure which jump you mean, so I explain two.

1. stand infront of the wall, hold RUN, dodge forward, press JUMP
2. hold RUN all time, start running to the wall, BOOST into the wall (jump+jump), when you hit the wall dodge away from it and BOOST (jump) again

The 2nd is the one I can actually do, which is odd because it sounds harder.
The 1st I've had explained like that, but also like I said in my last post. You start to dodge away from wall, but hit jump in between directional taps, then jump again (move-jump-move-jump). Can't get it either way for the extra distance/height. :(

you have to touch the wall, then dodge into it and jump: run+forward-forward-jump

Cyb, that's the one you can do against slightly angled walls. I guess I'm thinking more of one of these wall dodges:
http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=130615
or whatever it is you see in the movement videos to get on top of the Garden bases or in Azreal's old video where the Gunner gets from Alcazar's upper entrance to the jump pad in 2 jumps. The move where in first person it looks like the player is throwing himself away from the wall. Those are the ones I'd like to figure out. Must be my old, slow hands.

@GotBeer ?: the jumps onto the roof in garden are slopejumps which are the easiest ones imo, just dodge towards a steep slope while pressing sprint and then press jump.

To get a feel for the wall-dodge-jumps, try using behindview 1, that makes it easier to get a feel for it. U need to do the dodge while connected to a wall and then u can jump once more. gl trying it out :)
