ReD_Fist said:hehe,,,well around here they would be freaking.
BTW (off topic) just wondering,is there still a difference overthere from the "east" to "west" did things really get better or is it still kinda separate.
One really would'nt know unless they live there, seems like it would be hard to blend the sides after such a long time.
And a while back you said you went to some army thing for 2 weeks or somthing like that,is the army or whatever it is, a mandatory thing or,how big is the army,or is it all volunteer.Just curious,it isn't all that crucial to know and look through the web,but ,anyway..was wondering ever since you said that,i do remember you said you hated it though.
I'm posting this in a separate thread so I wont go off topic in the relgious debate thread.
There are still some differences between east and west. the biggest is probably the weaker economy in the east. East Berlin on the other hand is doing very well.
There is still some separation in mind. I've especially noticed this at the army where most recruits were easties.
It's not as worse as it may sound, it's just slightly noticeable.
Well, I was for five weeks in the army(I was almost done with bootcamp : / ) . In germany every male between the age of 18 and 23 has to do either community service or army service. each service takes up 9 months.
But here comes the big BUT. Every possible canditate has to go through a physical examination wether you're suitable for such 'hard (
So, if you really dont want to do one of the two things you dont have to.
I had a positive drug test on THC, marijuana. That's why they sent me after a looong waiting time to a psychologist. It didnt matter what I told him, since I could decide on my own wether I wanted to stay or not from the point on when my bases doc mistook cannabis for a hard drug (luck).
I would've stayed in the army if they hadnt told me in advance where they were going to put me after bootcamp.
Heh... even on my ride to the army hospital where I had my appointment with the psychologist my driver (who was in the same unit I was going to be) was telling me how bad it is there and that bootcamp is a cakewalk compared to that unit.
Community service is the thing to do
lots of prejudices towards it(though they are fading) but I can wholeheartedly recommend it. I'm jobbing at a hospital currently doing bureau stuff and there are alot of Zivis(thats how community service guys are nicknamed). Community service can give you some intresting insight into life.
