Some different stuff from me.

Dude, those are all beautiful!

The moving train is great with that motion blur, and the waterfall is just perfect! Great shots!

edit: Could you please somehow provide me with a wallpaper sized (1680x1050 or bigger) version of the first shot (train) and the waterfall shot? Would really apreciate it!

I went out today and got some more photos from where we went last time. It was misty again, this time with snow.

That's my fav in the set, the background mountains look as if it's out of a Video Game Skybox. Pretty damn awesome.
The bird also add a nice touch.

Shot a bunch of boudoir pics for a friend of mine recently. Needed to make sure the cheap ass backdrop I'm using would be adequate for masking for this style for when I start doing my official pinup work, since it was basically a set of off-white wrinkled canopies for tents. These two are the "tame" ones - the others are for her boyfriend's eyes only (and mine, of course).

I really like that one too. I noticed how the footprints overlap, then spread apart, the overlap, like they are telling a story of the journey of those two people. Also notice the faint flock of birds flying over the tree rising out of the mist.

Still trying to decide on a camera. I almost spent $1300 on a Panasonic GH1 yesterday, but knowing that a much cheaper Canon will give me better photo quality is holding me back. (GH1 is sharper than the average Canon SLR but Canon has much better color accuracy) But I'm still drooling over the video that the GH1 produces. Uggghhhh decisions decisions....

No one cares to hear that you get to see overweight girls naked. Post up or shut up.

Overweight? Really? Jeez, you've got some hefty standards there. I personally think she's very attractive (and I've had a wide variety of body types at my disposal as of late - got a couple new ones coming up that might actually meet your standards..)

Mike, what sort of recommendations do you have for backdrops? How much money would I be looking to spend?

She's overweight by probably most prevailing standards. Just saying. Not that I care; I think chubby girls are great.

Mostly, quit dangling the carrot of nudity in front of us if we're never going to reach it. Go ahead with all the cleavage shots. It's cool, bro. But there's really no point in going "HAHA I HAVE NUDES ON MY COMPUTER YOU'LL NEVER SEE." That's really pretentious.

She isn't overweight at all.. She has lots of curves. Curves do not mean fat. She has some extra weight on her but its well with in my personal attractive standards. Its all personal tastes anyways. Its ok to speak up and give your constructive feedback/opinions but there is no reason for personal attacks. She is plenty sexy.

I really would like to see more facial expressions. I dont feel anything because I dont see any expressions coming from her. A sexy body isnt enough without an expression to go with it. Its would be sexier if her face implied an emotion that drew us in. Mischief, wonder, doubt, pout, loneliness, pondering, waiting, hope, need, desire, aroused, aggression... all expressions that would add an extra character to your subject and draw us into the photo.

You can go several directions with backdrops. Here is a quick list from least expensive to most:

  1. Pre existing wall - Super cheap.. just have to find a big enough one with the right color or lack of.
  2. 9'x18' Muslim fabric - Very cheap but very thin. $15-40 Anything behind the fabric will be seen unless you get a lot of it. Prone to wrinkles which may drive you crazy in post production.. unless you dig shapes the fabric makes. You will likely need to use an iron before hanging it up. You can find this at your local fabric store.
  3. 9'x18' thick fabric - Cheap but depending on what you find you may end up paying $50 - 100 for the right size. Less likely to have wrinkles with thicker fabrics. You can find this at your local fabric store.
  4. 9'x100' paper backdrop - $60 - 200 Really easy to use. If you get it dirty.. just cut that part off. I would have to say that this is the biggest bang for your buck. You will need lighting stands and a bar to hold everything up. I
  5. 9'x100' vinyl backdrops. Around the same price group as paper but less likely to crinkle. Much easier to clean and they can come in shiny or matte. I would love to get one but I am waiting for the paper to run out first. Could take a while :)
  6. 9x100 canvas backdrop - $100 - 500 Very Expensive. These things are like heavy, tough, wrinkle free and they look like rugs.

Also, if you have some sexy shots, do share them. I would like to see them. Unless banable parts are showing.. post it!

Yeah, she was tough to shoot. Not used to having to coach so much, and we were pressed for time (we were all starving). Not to mention the self confidence issue prevalent in so many women. Oh well. I chose those 2 shots because I felt they were the strongest overall compositions that were safe for publishing.. I literally can't share the others, as she's a friend of mine and those are for her boyfriend. It was a great experience, though; shooting someone nude with a curvy body was pretty challenging.

Thanks for the suggestions on backdrops.
