This is a concept my son asked me to help him with. We took quite a few shots the other night, but very few turned out to be usable, this being the best one.

Crotale, was this done filtering out one of the RGB levels?

Nope. It was all about levels, burning and dodging, plus some Lightroom tweaks. I started out removing all the color by using a simple desat. After that, I modified the levels (Ctrl L) quite a bit for more "oomph". Then I burned and dodged to get a much higher contrast. The psd was imported into Lightroom and three virtual images were created using different techniques to add emphasis through lighting and "coloring". To finish, all three were imported back into Photoshop where they were merged together using multiple masks. A final tweak in detuning the saturation produced the image you see.

All of your images are superb, but these two take the cake. What is this little fella?

This was my second night visit to one of my favourite places, a large derelict textile mill covering around two city blocks. Some parts of the mill go back to the 1600s, with the biggest red brick mill (below) being added around 1900.

3 Minutes exposure at iso 400, the one below could have done with longer.

These were only found recently in a tiny cupboard, some of the ledgers date back to the 1800s.

Emmet... I hate you those are some damned fine shots.

Here's my attempts at some Macros. Bearing in mind that i used a macro lens(35-70mm) + some extra magnifying filters that sat on the end...

They pale in comparison and it makes me very very sad. Heh heh ... Maybe i should invest a little more than £30 on accessories. ;)

Those are some really sweet Skyscapes too Ignition.
