Description:

Prometheus is a single player mission based co-op game in the spirit of Portal and Mirror's Edge. You'll be bending the laws of Einsteinian Physics by entering a Quantum State that will allow you to play the game with your past, present and future selves to accomplish your goals as set forth by your employer.

I love Prometheus (actually, I love a lot of Rachel's work xD). Shame I find it rather tricky - my sense of logic fails me working out most of the puzzles, haha.

I'd love to see what would happen if a few additional, confusing mechanics were adding to the mix.

i just had a go on this. the idea is great, but the game is somewhat buggy. i just played the 3rd level like 10 times and the last 5 trys my 4th quantum state randomly died. weird stuff like that happened multiple times.

Just finished it... and loved it... :D At first it was a bit tricky to get Epimetheus replay-runs on time, but I never had any serious problem once I knew what I was meant to do. This version is indeed far less buggy than the previous ones... :tup: I had some issues a couple of times with Gambit's 4th quantum state too, but I don't really know what I did... :rolleyes:

I'd have liked to make a level for this but I'm back to university soon... :( Had an idea for a Epimetheus map in which you'd have to kill another quantum state to finish it! :D A mission about taking some sort of bomb and carrying it to an objective by throwing it from one quantum state to the next one would also be a nice one to play... Weapon throwing may also have potential... ;)

Subtitles acted a little weird btw... :p

Downloaded it twice from FileFront and I got the same error. FilePlanet mirror was fine...

What is the 4th state's path and about where does it die?
My 4th quantum state didn't die, but at least one of the other states got stuck somewhere and was forced to stop and try again... I think I was heading for the lift but I don't really know since they were among my first attempts... It's not the same bug as Bi()ha2ard's one I guess... :rolleyes:

Ok, thanks. :) Yeah, we're hitting up against the limits of UnrealScript for the accuracy, I can't get them 100% accurate without an engine license. The best way is to give everything a few seconds leeway before hitting switches etc.

Can you tell me exactly what you do so I can reproduce the issue?


well once i didnt see them dying but they just didnt arrive where i was waiting. then at a later try i went down the lift to "park" my 4th quantum state at the button. as i was waiting i was jumping up and down in the lift and the lift just happened to start going down when i was in the air. i fell down (survived) and pressed the button, then fastforwarded to play #5 of me.
when the lift went down and my self no 4 fell down it died from falldamage.

and then on my later trys where i didnt fall down the lift with #4 when i was running to the lift with #5 and waited for #4 to arrive i heared the "landing" sound in fast repetition like you do when you get stuck on something and then suddenly #4 was lying dead at the lift door where i waited for the door to open when i played that quantum state. that happened for all the next trys and i eventually gave up.

ill maybe give it another try tonight.

ok had another run (played through it all this time) and this time it didnt happen. however a couple of times the quantum states werent always accurate when they were acting on their own. for example the level where you have to escape from the prometheus tutorial chamber a quantum state once got stuck. instead of walking up the stairs it was running against the wall left of it. the same level in challenge mode my quantum states managed to fall down the small wall where you balance to pickup #3 and #4.

also when you shoot with a quantum state and hold down the fire button you shoot like its supposed to be. but when that state then replays when you are in the next state it fires all the shots at once. if you don't hold down the fire button when playing that state it works like it should.

but apart from that i have to say i really like your mod. its really creative and challenging. tho it can be frustrating when you are on the prometheus side and do a little mistake for example in quantum state 4 and you have to redo all the previous ones again.

anyways, great work. can't wait to see more of the mod!
