Official BeyondUnreal Photography Thread

Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.
It's mostly me tweaking the heck out of everything in Lightroom and Photoshop to compensate for lack of getting a clean shot. I either end up with way too much noise or blur because I seem to move too much when shooting. Plus, I have to remember to use all the tools available on the camera.
I just bought a cheapo tripod today, so maybe that might help. Matter of fact, I took it outside for a few shots, but found little to shoot in my neighborhood, save for that damned barking dog next door.
I took this today, controlled the situation as much as possible in manual and made very tweaks in Lightroom. Pretty much what you see is what you get with this shot. Yeah, it's just the sky.

Took some more shots downtown Vegas today. An interesting moment occurred when I encountered a bum. I gave him a couple of bucks since he wasn't bothering anyone. He seemed really happy to receive the money. I took a couple of quick photos. He asked if he was going to be featured in a magazine. Sadly, I told him no. I am even more sad now as I meant to ask him his name and just realized I forgot to ask.

So last night I met up with Freon here in Tokyo to take some pictures. Super nice guy and fun to hang out with.
We hanged out in Shinjuku and took pictures, ate food, and enjoyed a drink.

There is a light source hanging from directly above lighting the way a bit. I did alter the colors in Photoshop.
I'll post some more photos from here later as I took more with my film camera, but my scanner hasn't arrived yet with the rest of my stuff.

Yeah man, I'm studying guitar making and working as furniture restorer in my time off, but only to pay for my excessive drinking which I refuse to curtail.

I do that for a reason. You wouldn't believe what people will steal, sell, and then some other tard will buy. Another Flickr friend ran into this problem, so I keep them that way.
The retouched image projects an intense ambiance, but I really like the untouched colors in that alley pic.

Here are a few B&W photos from my Vegas Strip excursion on Thursday. I hope they turned out okay. The tripod helps but I feel like an idiot carrying it around in the shoulder bag, not to mention the weird looks I get when I break it out. Perhaps I'm just too self-conscious.
I'm still working to get the tools down as far as f-stop, focal points and iso settings. Until I bought this DSLR, I had no idea there is so much involvement in taking a simple picture. I now have a much better appreciation for those of you who have put in the time and effort with your photography.
I thought I would reshoot the Fashion Show "ufo" shade. I'm not sure what my fascination is what that damned thing. I also got a good opportunity to capture a Prowler (not that they are THAT cool but this one was pretty sweet with the flames). It was black with blue flames, so the B&W makes the flames stand out much better than the full color. The last image was shot from a balcony behind the big screens at the Fashion Show.
