Well after that I did show him a lot of moves on the maps like Ant. We practiced the shortcuts and general slope dodges and he was getting the hang of it. Hopefully he's kept that up and has a good grasp on some of the advanced moves on the stock maps.
I think JD and I were arguing about the usefulness of playing against bots in another forum's website. I think he challenged me to both show me how wrong I was and to see how far along I was in my gameplay. Though I knew even at the time he was gonna paste me I hadn't tried online play before (didn't even know how to connect to his server) and what the heck surely I could at least get a couple of kills here and there. Then I was fool enough to let him pick the map--don't remember which--and if I remember correctly I don't think I got him down under 80 life
But no John my PC went down not long after our meeting and I got back into console gaming until recently. Still these threads and tweaks have definitely helped as has learning a few useful binds. I'm doing my homework more seriously this time. I think I'm better than the last time we met but not yet even close to ready to challenge you again. I'll let you know when I'm ready to try.
BTW if you don't have UT2004 on your PC anymore are you still part of Carpe Imperium?
