Textures.....
-Does anyone know how to create textures like those in GenFire ?
ie: they look like scripted particle effects. -also.. is there a max size for textures? the largest ive seen is 256x256 -Would it be possible to have say.. a 1024x1024 sheet with one large particle effect texture?? (what kind of performance hit would i expect?) |

Max size for static textures and animated textures is 1024x1024 pixels; procedural textures (like fire textures, water textures and scripted textures) are limited to 256x256 pixels---see Unreal Textures. This article also covers the creation of procedural textures.

Only if you disable mipmaps. Otherwise the engine picks the largest mipmap that fits the existing hardware.
