I noticed alot of people are calling it unreal tournemnt 2. its actual name is unreal warfare. I think its because the morons over at planetunreal are so clueless as to whats going on they dont even know that it has a new name, their calling it UT2, which is probably making everyone else confussed.

its unreal warfare not UT2, thanks to GSI for screwing it up.

I thought I had finally gotten a few people to understand that neither U2, nor UC nor UW is UT2.

That was until the UT2 rumor popped up 2 days ago. Now the confusion is complete.

I won't speak for the PU guys, but I can assure you that I know all about the game code-named Unreal Warfare. If anyone screwed up anything it's the guys at C & VG Magazine.

The main reason people are now unsure of what game they are referring to is because they name Digital Extreme as being responsible for the coding. (that, and they specifically called it UT2.)

I'll believe it when I see it. Infogrames has the most confusing PR I've ever seen. They'll let stuff float out there and not comment on it, or give a "no comment".

I believe that I did hear the game referred to as Unreal Warfare, but I also heard someone say, no just the engine is called Unreal Warfare (at this stage, and there was even a pic of Legend editing a map with the words Unreal Warfare Engine right at the top of their Window. Now I hear them say that the engine is just called the "Unreal Engine". So... who knows?

Warren Marshall (of Epic) has referred to Epic's next game as Unreal Warfare. Whether it stays with that name, of course, is something else.

Mark Rein confirmed it explicitely on FGN Online:

It is confirmed by Epic that UW is a game, not just an engine or a codename.

No matter how you slice it or dice it its a followup to UT but bigger and better. Thats all that matters.

True the title is confusing to alot of people because Epic or their publisher have not made an official announcement.

I expect that pretty much the only thing the two games will have in common is that they are focused on multiplayer (and you'll have guns and frag people).

Like hal, I believe UT2 when I see UT2. UW is a game, that is why we have a forum committed to it, we've known UW is a game, just not a very secret game

and I also agree w/ hal, Infogrames is such a m0tarded company sometimes, they dont care about the quality of their products and are generally too large for their own good

besides there is a possibility that UT2 is in development because EPic is NOT working on Unreal Championship, that is Digital Extremes, the co developer

UT2 CAN be a possibility, but if it's not, we still have U2 and UW to look forward to, 2 titles that no console will ever see

Guns I started another thread on UT2 but it really belongs here.

I believe UT2 is UC for the XBOX because all the info. provided thus far on UT2..Egyptian futuristic landscapes =, Lava maps,
Ice Maps, a couple of thousand polygons for the player models all point to Unreal Championship XBOX (2nd quarter release date...) unless this rumor seems to be pointing to a PC port of UC.

U2 and ((UC (XBOX maybe PC))2nd Qtr 2002...UW at the end of 2002 or sometime in 2003

Either way Im in trouble because I wont have time to play all these great games in 2002 . Theres about 5-8 games I would like to play next year.

I agree with J.Speed. Reading the description sounds like an exact description given of UC as far as how maps go... and considering its the same company making UC.. its a little safe to specualte that it is a specialised port.

Before you go rolling your eyes, I think you should read back through the thread where I said I know what's been written about it.

I don't claim to have any inside knowledge about it... just what's been released.

I was simply saying that I was fully aware of the differences between the game called UW, and this "mystery game", and they definitely were not refering to UW.
