Unreal Gold SP Question
Just installed Unreal Gold and am in the process of downloading a lot of custom single player maps. My question is how do I change difficulty settings in custom maps that support this. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but, I am fairly new to Unreal.

To do that, you have to specifically open the maps through the system console. Normally you would type something like "open Hexephet.unr" but instead, you have to assign a difficulty setting with it.
Here's the format, with the above as an example: open Hexephet.unr?difficulty=2 This will open the map on the Hard difficulty setting. Notice that the difficulty parameter is separated from the statement with a question mark. The numbers of the difficulty levels from Easy to Unreal go from 0 to 3, where 0 is Easy and 3 is Unreal. |

Well, it varies from person to person, ATM I like Illhaven Saga and Shrakithra's Tower.

It does vary quite a bit, but you'll find a lot of people saying Shrakith'a or Hexephet, with Illhaven being a close third, and possibly Xerania 2 behind that.

Yeah... with me, Illhaven is my top favorite, the theme is closely related to the U1 Nali, with a twist.

Illhaven is nice, but from a gameplay standpoint it suffers vs Hexephet.

I agree. The concept and storyline for Illhaven is excellent, but it could use a full going-over to correct minor bugs and other things that look (or sound) weird.

I'm remaking Illhaven for Unreal Tournament, with fixes such as resized torches, aligned texturing, and more.

Cool. Did you get Kew's permission?

Before I release it I will come in contact with Tim 'Kew' Jervis, and get his permission.

If you can get his permission, then that will be really cool. Just remember two other things: 1. take advantage of MusicEvent Triggers, and 2. give the maps another set of names just in case someone has both the new maps and the original Illhaven maps.

Yeah I reckon I'd download that. Sounds like a good idea.
