ME and TNT2

Hi, I recently got a new, low-midrange system and tried to run both Unreal 1 and UT both of which failed in anything but software rendering. The specs are: 766 Intel Celeron, 128 MB RAM, TNT2/M64 Pro and Windoze ME. I have installed latest DirectX and Detonator 3 drivers (version 12.41) but both freeze with a blank screen when they are run in Direct3D. I have tried other video modes but only software works and looks crap... and ideas?
