Not mapvote...WebChatLog
Hey man, I added the proper lines to the ini and it isn't working. Says it is unable to open or create the log file. The log dir is c:\utweblog
But I don't think thats it. SHould I add anything else to the ini that you maybe forgot in the txt you provided? Thanks in advance for your reply. |

No, I had two other server admins put it on their servers weeks
before I released it and they didn't have any problems. First make sure that this c:\utweblog directory exists. if it doen't create it. Also, if your server is Windows NT or 2000 make sure that the User Account that is logged on has Full Permissions to that directory (Read, Write, Create, Delete). Also, if nothing else works try erasing these INI settings: [WebChatLog.WebChatLog] LogFilePath=c:\utChatLog By removing this setting it should attempt to create the htm files in the \UT\System directory. If this works then that will help narrow down the problem. Let me know what you find.

No good. I deleted the whole entry and it still gave me the "cannot create the log or failed to open it."
The server is running Win98SE and on a 1.5meg connection. I don't know what else it could be. I tried different dir names and made sure they were created before starting the server. |

I couldn't get mine to work on my LAN test server either
I tried by creating the directory my self. I was using c:\UnrealT\WebChatLog. Tried it a couple times and even search my whole HD for new *.htm files. I didn't find any.

WebChatLog was definitely started:
Log: Spawning: WebChatLog.WebChatLog Log: Bound to WebChatLog.dll but it cannot open the HTM file: Log: Failed to open or create the chat log file. ScriptLog: Chat Log Filepath set to c:\UnrealT\System\ ScriptLog: Chat Log Filename set to 200108010946 Log: Failed to open or create the chat log file. Log: Failed to open or create the chat log file. Log: Failed to open or create the chat log file. Log: Failed to open or create the chat log file. I tried not adding the UnrealTournament.ini stuff and got: [WebChatLog.WebChatLog] LogFilePath=. LastLogFile=200108010946 Then I tried: [WebChatLog.WebChatLog] LogFilePath=c:\UnrealT\System LastLogFile=200108010946 and finally, maybe it needed the backslash at the end: [WebChatLog.WebChatLog] LogFilePath=c:\UnrealT\System\ LastLogFile=200108010946 All came up with the same error posted above (except for the filepath, of course) Hope this helps!! |

Ok, I just realized that I never tested this on Window 95/98,
only on Windows NT 4. Just tried it on my Win98 system and it did not work ether. Sorry. I'll look into it and see if I can fix it.

Ok, found the problem and fixed it.
It now works with Windows 98SE. It *should* work on any 95/98 & NT & 2000 but has not been tested on all. Download Fix Sorry for the mistake.

I was having problems at first, but it was becuase the directory didn't exist. Once I created the WebChatLog dir, it seems to work fine.
I noticed the auto-taunts do not show up, is this by design? |

Auto-Taunts, are those taunts from bots ?
or the taunts you can send from the Speach window (V key) ? FYI, Someone has already ask if Death Messages can be added. I still need to look in to that though.

I consider Auto-taunts the one's the bot says AND the one I would say after fraggin something/someone. No biggee, but it would be nice to see ALL human (at least, I'll take bots too) taunts. Taunts include auto AND the V key ones!!!

Is this supposed to log TeamSay messages? I am only logging Say messages, Spec messages, and Enter/Leaving notices. Do I have to do something else?

Yeah, I think you are correct that it doesn't log team messages.
I will check in to it. I think next time I release a mutator I will do a prerelease to just the forum users who actually test this stuff, haha. Thanks
