Newbie

I'm a pathetic newbie that I realize is hated by all "veterans" of the game. I came to this board to become a "veteran", so I can learn different tactics and the appropriate behaviour while playing. I hope you guys will give me some hints and suggestions! I NEED 'EM!

first thing is flak spam is bad for a newbie but good for a veteran

let me explain

if a newbie flak spams and only spams he/she will never further their ability other than memorizing where the flak cannon is and maybe improving on spam skills

if a vet flak spams then its ok because he/she understands how to play the game and a frag is a frag no matter how you get it

You misspelled lamer.

Anyone who goes around bothering to "hate" people new to the game is by no means a "vet". A true veteran of the game has played for so long because he or she loves it. And within that, they realise that for the game to continue, new blood will always have to be welcomed in, or else the whole thing becomes stale.

Besides, most of the behavior attributed to "n0obz" is seen in llamas of all types, no matter how long they've been playing the game. The difference is, when you calmly and friendly explain why such behavior is unacceptable to most new players, they adapt to it, whereas the llamas will make comments about your sexual preferences and continue on being bad sports.

*blecch*

So kids, remember, you're not a "n0ob", you're inexperienced ...

Hope someday I'll be one of those UT 'veterans'... But there is a long road to go... arrrgh.

Llamas? No thank you. I'll never be one of them!

If you feel like that because of my "Is is just clanner's arrogance or do newbies really suck?" thread, I feel sorry. This is really not how it was meant. Please re-read my original post and read it closely.

I didn't refer to *skills* at all. It's natural that you don't play very good at the start. Nothing wrong with that. My post was all about the un-sportsman-like behaviour of many newbies. Don't behave like an ass and I've got no problem with you, no matter how bad you play.

Don't worry, Cleaner, I totally understood your post about newbie's behaviour. I'm trying to act civilized and open to suggestions when people in UT tell me...

Thanks for that other thread, anterobs...its useful
