Not sure what you mean with payloads..
I think you mean those x-shape metal parts at the rear pf the bomb - that's the High Drag mechanism, used to slow down the bomb, so it explodes further behind the airplane, enableing the airplane to fly lower and not get hit by the bomb debris.

no i think he ment how big do they go boom. Usually rating in pounds or tons. like 500Lbs paveways, or such. Weren't snakeyes used for putting craters in runways?

DEFkon, you're thinking of the BLU-107/B Durandal runway cratering munition, which drives itself into the runway by use of a rocket, whereupon it detonates a 330 lb. high explosive warhead that buckles the runway. This makes repair much more difficult.



The Durandal is the bomb to the immediate right of the Falcon's radome.
