Mouhahaha
I chose the Famas... you know why ?
coz its the only gun that I think I'm able to reload... I don't know where to push on the m4 to release the magazine and to load another one Forget about the p90 ...I don't even know wheres the trigger ...=) The sig 551 seems to be like a m4 for reloading and the m249 ...mouhahahahah |

can somebody with bullpup experience tell me why you like it so much?
Its seems kinda hard to get a good grip on it since its so short. Hanging on to the recoil seems a little difficult. At least with non-bullpups you can "hug" the gun easily. Shakken: Why did M'sia choose the AUG as our new rifle? The more I read about it, the more I dislike it. |

Because it's cheap. And because the cultural bias/pride of 'some of us' keep us from buying the SAR-21 from Singapore.

We're choosing the Setyr AUG over the TAR-21 TAVOR?
Shakken: would you like to tell why the SAR is superior to the AUG - and do not use physical description as one of the points. Then answer my first question in the previous post. [This message was edited by I_ABuGa on Jan 01, 2001 at 10:04.] |

I've got a sweet spot for the M4. I can't wait to try out the FA-MAS though, it seems funky.
I don't think anyone'd pick the SAW though (they haven't yet). It's too heavy and bulky to use as a personal weapon, unless you have the chance to set it down. For you, the end is near. |

I chose the FAMAS, even tho I'm a natural lefty, I can shoot righty just as well... Plus it's my experience from Shakken that the FAMAS must own.
EJ says the SIG 551 has too much recoil The SAW is obvious M4=too many fand-dangled attachments and buttons etc etc
http://thrash123.unrealengine.com/ /ME gets a martini
|

I take the FN P90... I like bulbup weapons. The long barell on the FN should make it pretty easy to just point and shoot with it in close quarter (just like an arrow pointing at the target). The Fa-mas would be cool too but i like the FN a bit more... It just preference, i never shot any of thoses gun, i can't say how good they are... But i guess i would like the M4 too... It's a bit difficult to make my mind on this
. I'm used to hold small weapons and point them fast and accuratly, and behing able to hold them one/two handed is a big plus (not that any of the guns listed can really be held one handed, but i guess the FN would be the most likely).Anyway, it's personnal preference after all.. I know enough to know that I don't know enough. |

That's a supressor on the P90.
Gimme' a M4 any day. If there's anything it can't do out of the box, chances are I can stick something on it.

The M4 has an unfair advantage with all the extra goodies, strip the grenade launcher off and I'd switch my vote to the FAMAS.
It also depends on the particulars of the combat situation, I mean if I was going to have to go single handed against a bunch of BATF agents, then gimme the P90 (50 rounds between reloads, and good soft body armor penetration) but if I'm going against regular flak jacket wearing army troops, I'm back to my M4.

R-Force: No really, what's the 5.7mm round going to do that a 5.56mm tungsten core hardened armor piercing round can't?
I_ABuGa: The TAR-12 Tavor is an entirely differant gun(not going to be adopted by the IDF anytime soon tho. Technical flaws it seems). The SAR-21 is Singapore's new homegrown rifle. It's really a second generation AUG with better controls and better sights. Wait, ALLOT better sights. Due to be in full service as a replacement for the M16 next year. |

always wanted to know
with the p90... how do the bullets go in the clip? I've heard they can fall out if you reload too fast or shake the clip or sumthin
I once ate a pie with a plastic fork. |

Well...
The 5.7mm round will actually drop a target as opposed to the tungsten cored 5.56, which will just drill neat little holes in people.

Tuttle INF: Dude, the 5.7mm is a poor manstopper. The main reason it's not popular with the specforces
If a 5.7mm bullet drops a target any better than a 5.56 AP, then pigs fly. |

With as much love as Shakken and I have shown for each other in the past...
It pains me to side with him, but it is the side of truth. The latest issue of SWAT magazine, either Dec 2000 or Jan 2001, had an article about the P90 in operational use with the Austin, TX, PD. It claimed the p90 shooting FMJs doesn't do any better in 10% gelatin than the +P+ 115 gr. 9mm they use in their MP5's. They use the P90 alongside the M4.Honestly, if one considers the P90 as a big, hi-cap entry pistol, it looks good. It's better than a 15-shot 9mm or a little machinepistol. As a replacement for a full-size rifle, it sucks. BTW: my vote is for none of the above. If by "real life" you mean "my life", then it's the Benelli M3s90, specifically the 14" entry model. There is no way in hell I'd get away with having one of those "ugly assualt weapons". And if it wasn't urban combat, but open-field combat, I'd need a 7.62mm rifle like an M-14 or FN-FAL. Keep the 5.56's. |
