Suggestion for the M2 .50 machine gun
It's a small suggestion, but I think you should have to hit the "grab" key to use the M2. I just don't like the idea of being forced into using it when I am near it.

that's a great idea! also, occassionally there is still a bit of strangeness with it - e.g. the de icon showing up and not being able to fire, not switching back to your primary weapon when backing away, only being able to fire 1 round, etc.

I thought the team mentioned that the m2 would need the 'use' key to be selected in the future. I'll try to find it...

I think aiming the M2 is more a problem because mappers don't put the gun at a level that works. The gun has to be properly mounted to have it's sights at eye level when the player is crouched, or standing. Many of the maps I've tried to use the M2 in, the gun is just slightly too low, or slightly too high to aim properly.
Another feature I'd like to see with mounted guns like the M2 (in addition to using the grab key to select it), is that when moving the gun more than a slight bit to either side, the player model should move with it to keep lined up (relatively) with the sights of the gun. <a href="http://www.rlgaming.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.rlgaming.com/thissite/sigdarkness.jpg" border=0 alt="Infiltration HQ"></a> |

Hmm.. I'm not sure if this is what you want, but mappers can at least set the activation spot to rotate with the gun so you can't fire the M2HB with the barrel pointed at your face. It's realistic because the player has to work to keep in line with the handle.

OI, Change that fiering sound, The M2 has a much deeper sound than that...i can hear them each summer, theres a millitary HMG range not that far from here.

The wav was extracted from an mpeg on an M2 firing. Guns generally sound deeper when fired heard from a distance. Chances are you are only hearing the echo after it's been bounced off in all directions.
