Can I see your ID?
What we need is some sort of name registry. One in which you register your online player name.
What would be cool is if all the INF servers could check with a central server and if you try to use a registered name it would ask you for a password (maybe you could have a cookie on your machine so you didn't have to enter your PW every time you log onto a server). That way if I put a bullet in Gryphon's head, then I know for sure it's THE Gryphon (or Warren or Keiichi or whomever). Also this way we don't have assholes using the names of team members and forum regulars and going on TKing sprees, trying to sully their good names.

I was looking through the forums at Tactical Ops, and one guy was suggesting checking your ngUID for this.

If a software-company implemented this, they'd get into all sorts of trouble because of the 'privacy' aspects involved.
So why should we trust our personal 'details' to a bunch of 'amateurs' ? You do know how people reacted to the unique Id that is on the Pentium 3-chip ? Yes it would be nice if there was some kind of system that prevented someone from (ab)using your on-line name/persona. But what about people taking their on-line 'vendettas' so serious they are willing to track that person down (which thanks to the unique id would be possible) ... - Hindsight is always 20/20 - |

I'm not talking about giving them our social security number or mothers maiden name. Just a user ID, password and an email address.
Not any more info then you gave to post on this forum.

Your ideas are very good, I'd love to see this implemented. And all it should ask for is a password user name and your email... Very good idea indeed. ![]() -[Delta]Xpect84Nova

I suggested it some week ago. So i can only agree with you !
Maybe a key system à la RSA, would be efficient..
|
