I exported some UT textures to PSP6 to add some text to them. When I imported them back to UT to use in the level I'm making, they were much larger (data wise.) One is 8 megs another is 4 megs yet a couple seem to be right 87k or so. Any ideas where I screwed up? Thanks for any help.

Probably a change in the color pallette or the dpi. Make sure you import them at 256 colors, 256x256 pixels size, and 256 dpi resolution (or less).

Texture sizes (in pixels) must be a combination of 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128, or 256.
Color depth must be 256 colors/8bit/indexed (depends on which program you use to how it's referred to as). And for some reason a 72dpi seems to ease most problems when using Photoshop and PSP for making textures. Finally must be a bmp or pcx file. |
