Help Please!! I installed a Voodoo5 AGP and 1.04.01 Beta drivers and looking in the DirectX Diagnostic tool in display, it shows: Approx total memory as 30.5 MB. W.T.F.? And it shows AGP texture acceleration: Not available. Again, W.T.F.? In 3dfx tools it shows 64 MB. Also in tools, should I use Direct3D or opengl/glide for U.T.? I'm running a PII450 w/256 MB RAM,Win98SE. Thanks!!!

It is normal for DXDiag to report 30.5MB memory. The program only detects 1 VSA-100 chip at a time, so it only sees half the 64MB memory. The other 1.5MB come from the 2D framebuffer for the screen.

In tools, it doesnt matter. That allows you to do change some settings.
You decide what API UT uses within UT, not in windows. I've tried D3D 32bit, and 16bit Glide..and to be honest, I could not see a difference. I'm sure there is a difference between D3D 16bit and D3D 32bit... |
