No more EAX effects with Unreal

After having installed the latest drivers for my Sound Blaster Live! Basic (the european version of the Value model) I can no more have EAX effects with Unreal (I have installed the latest patch, of course).
I tried to uninstall all the SB Live! software and then I reinstalled the Live!Ware 3.0 (without reinstalling first the drivers from the SB Live! CD ROM because I got an error message when trying to do it), but still I have the problem.
Can anyone please help me?
