running Unreal with the 226 patch in D3D and i can't get 32 bits to work. i have tried changing every reference in unreal ini. from 16 to 32 as well as D3d rendering (use 32 bits=true or false)but i'm still seeing those little squares on the screen.
i know that UT has an option in the GUI to select 16 or 32 bits but unreal doesn't. Does Unreal support 32 bits? |

Be sure you set it to 32 in windows itself under 'display properties -- settings'.
Right-mouseclick on the desktop....

thanks- it worked but i lost over 10 fps at 1024x768x32 in the opening fly-by.
funny that in UT the difference between 16 and 32 bits is only 2 frames per second using the 420 patch( i have a g-force with the det.3 6.18 drivers) which is acceptable. i'll probably drop it back to 16 bits but thanks for your reply. |

UT is more optimised for current cards..
Unreal is kinda old, two years rite?

Thats odd...
Unreal 225f and 226a(high details, all goodies, 800/600)=ave 35fps UT 420(med tex & skin, all goods, 800/600)=ave 30fps UT 348DEMO(high tex & skin, all goods, 800/600) ave 40fps proof that the code for UT has become a monster over development. Vodoo Banshee P2 64MB RAM CacheSizeMegs=45 |
