we really need to do away with this 2-party system where everything is either black or white. it's hurting everyone, because the majority of US citizens are much, much closer to the middle. Quote:

your presumptions about the UK are totally off base, and you fail to realize just how far down the scale the US system has actually fallen when compared to our Democratic (and socialist) neighbors.

The Axis are beating the Allies here and it's mostly America's fault. Mostly.

This is one of my favourite articles on US-UK healthcare comparison, although most of you will probably find it tl:dr.

Don't buy into any bull**** about British health care, it really is the dogs bollocks. Sure it isn't perfect (MRSA scares are not fun), but if I am need medical attention I know it's going to be of a good standard and it's already been paid for via taxation (this is an example of taxation that I can totally get behind, shame my damned road tax still hasn't fixed the potholes in my street).

Come on, can we just get over this argument already? This isn't about money or life, this is about freedom and force.

I just read the bit about the abortion stuff though. That really sucks why do conservatives hate human rights so much?

Give me a break. I think the whole drama about the abortion amendment was absolutely laughable. The amendment does absolutely nothing but reaffirm already existing law. It doesn't prevent anybody from having an abortion, just from getting it with federal funds. I think it's funny that people are getting so bent out of shape over a non issue. One of the few places with this bill that Dems played it smart. Probably the only thing more humorous than the Democrat reaction is the Catholic church and some conservatives thinking that they achieved some sort of small victory here.

You, my friend, cannot read. I was responding to the alleged notion that public health care is the same as public services such as fire and police. Fire and police protect our property as well as our persons. Care to prove that health care protects my property? Come on bro, I triple dog dare ya.

Edit:/ Sorry if I don't feel that it is MY responsibility to pay for someone else's health care via taxes. If I pay more at the doctor's office because of those who do not have insurance, so be it. That is how a market works. It goes the same in Walmart and any store where I shop. I'm not cold-hearted; I just do not draw the same parallels as some of you when it comes to fire, police and the military on relation to a mandated federally-controlled public health care program.
