Well meh, the thing that made the CoD4 missions cool, was that each of them had a unique element.
We've tried...
Spoiler Warning! (move mouse over box below to reveal)
See what I mean? What they can do now, is expand on some of the mission, like at the bonus mission, but perhaps attack a submarine, where you have to infiltrate in diving suits, and then get the hell out of there, when it leaks because of unexplainable reasons. That would actually be pretty cool. Anyways, the only thing I miss in CoD4 is defense. There's only one map, where you get to defend and even there, you have to flee in the end. Something cool like a hostage situation in an airport or something. That would rock. Then you'll have to pick between sewer infiltration or choppers on roof. Ah, I guess there's a lot of stuff that can still be done. Infinity Ward can do it

The car-ride in the end? I thought it was awesome! I only played mp in CoD (lan parties), and never acquired CoD2.
Are they wild too? Perhaps I should see if I can get them through Steam.

Here is the thing:
CoD4: You could make it through the car ride without firing a shot CoD1: You go on a wild ****ing ride that will pucker up your butthole. |

Did you test the car-ride on harder difficulties? I bet veteran is different

Yeah, I shouldn't have to artificially raise the difficulty to make a level fun

Yea, I see what you mean. I didn't really realize I couldn't die during that chase, so I was scared ****less when that chopper approached

The only thing awesome about the car ride is the ending.
Did I wanted Price to give me his pistol before he died? Yes... Yes.

It kinda sucked that he died. Screw Giggs, he was a stupid american, but Price was a cool british sniper. Nothing beats british snipers!
Is there any history, on what happened to Captain Maggillian (Prince's captain when young), or whatever his name is?

I just started playing it actually. I'm at the part where me and a few other guys just crashed our Helicopter and now we're ducking through some farmlands.
Game is kinda fun so far, if a bit easy. I've never been a fan of "hide in a corner until your health regenerates" type of gameplay, but meh. Action is cool enough. I hope there are lots more of the "Black Hawk Down-esque" environments. |

Not so much if you look at what he did before he got killed.

Since you all play COD4, I was wondering how does the ingame radar work? I've thought about adding a feature like that to my mod, but I was curious how well it actually worked out in this type of game.
1. Do only teammates show on the radar? 2. What does firing your weapon do to your radar visibility (do the silencers make you not show up or something)? 3. Do you only see people on the radar when you use the UAV? 4. if you have the UAV jammer perk, will you always be hidden (even when firing weapons)? Thanks for any insight on this!

2. Firing a weapon without silencer will make you appear on the enemies radar. 3. Using the UAV will reveal all enemies on the map, unless they have UAV Jammer. 4. UAV Jammer + Silencer and you won't be seen on radar. Last edited by Nines; 10th Feb 2008 at 11:26 AM. |

Gonna expand a bit on what Nines said;
1. Teammates will always show up on the radar, unless you're playing hardcore mode. In this mode, you will only have radar when a UAV is on the fly. During this UAV time, the radar will act as it does in normal mode + enemies will show up. 2. That's pretty clear. 3. Yep! 4. Not entirely correct. If you, or a teammate, sees an enemy and shoots at him, he will (like in Counter-Strike(well, at least I think that's how CS radar works )) show up on the radar, provided it is appearant. The radar is always appearant in normal mode.

Ahh, ok that make sense
So if I fired an unsilenced weapon, I would show up on my enemies radar, but for how long? Also does the UAV only give you a temporary view of who is where or does it last for the rest of the time you are alive? Thanks for all the helpful info so far!

Enemy positions identified by weapon fire appear on the overhead map for just a few moments (unless you're playing hardcore, in which case there's no persistent overhead position map).
3 Kills in a row allow you to call for a UAV scan for you and your team mates and it lasts something like 30 seconds. |
