I am not familiar with any South Indian news station with those production values... Outside of that, it just seems like a big fake. But Snopes pointed out it could be viral marketing, which would make this pretty neat.

Hmm seems pretty fake to me.
And why is it first now such a BIG fossil has been found? It's half a year ago, and I beleive that helicopters and planes have passed such areas in big numbers, why was this overlooked at that point?
And if it was washed ashore why is it almost whole?

My guess is it's truely fake.

Your'e all so skeptical, why does nobody take everything they see as the truth, although all evidence points to it being fake, I have faith in it, just as christians have faith in god, I don't mean to offend any christians out there but i have found no hard evidence to prove the existance of god. I beleive everything I see as moving pictures and take everything in words as complete fiction.

How many more times does this stuff have to wash up on the shorelines before people start reaslizing this stuff does exist? They found something like this near Boston in 1877 I think it was. The health department went out there and blew it up because it was a hazard by decaying on the beach, and all the scientists refused to go out there and check it out before it was destroyed. It was also some 150 feet long and they said it was a shark by looking at a single picture from the front. BS! They've also found this stuff before in the past and there's stories and legends of these types of creatures everywhere in lakes, the ocean, and even rivers. The @*&^@# Patomic River has a few sightings of a sea monster even some 50 years ago! It's rare today since they can hear petrolium and nuclear boats, subs, vehicles, etc. from miles away. All lies, fakes, and photoshops? People find aliens more acceptable to believe in because the universe is so unexplored, yet they ignore massive portions of this world being completely and untirely unexplored except by a machine in orbit snapping pictures of everything. All fakes, I think not.

Remember all those maps that had pictures of sea dragons and serpents on them back from the golden days of sail shipping and colonial imperial exploration? They didn't get there by accident. All fakes? I don't think so, especially when the term dragon predates dinosaur up until dinosaur was defined in the 1700's, if I recall correctly. At that point dinosaur was automatically defined as extinct while dragon became mythological, despite dictionaries in the 1500's that stated dragon (which also encompased dinosaur at the time) - "A very rare but still alive creature[...]". I'm dieing to get my hands on an old dictionary from the 1500's or earlier that confirms this. I want to see this with my own eyes. There's one in a town nearby but their library is still being rennovated. -_- And let's not forget all the research that has evidence of these types of stories, legends, etc. from every civilization on the planet. Hollywood production value? Not way back then. Can't all be fakes. Even Animal Planet ran a special on dragons and other creatures about their research into all these matching stories everywhere all over the world. Can't all be fakes and coincidences. But because the current system doesn't allow them to exist by calling them mythological and fantasy it automatically discredits anyone who finds proof. That's really sad. I could sit in a sailboat in the middle of the ocean and get a video tape of a sea serpent eating a steak off the deck of my boat and it'd be called a fake instantly. There's no way to prove this stuff because it's defined as mythological and paranormal. Pathetic.

Yes, like the truth. I get tired of being told it's not possible, fantasy, mythological, paranormal, and all that other crap when the very ancestors of everyone alive today created all the information about dragons, sea serpents, and encounters with dinosaurs that we have today. I keep hunting for this information and I want to know the truth before I die. Some people are lieing, yes, but not everyone. There's too much to instantly disregard it all. We have a lot of stories of aliens and yet people find aliens much easier to believe than the fact that there could be undiscovered creatures still on this planet waiting to be found. And it's simply stunning how much of this planet is still unexplored for these things to get automatically ignored and claimed as fakes.

The dictionaries from the 1500's and earlier was a real shocker. I can't wait to see this for myself.

Actually its very interesting that most civilization have their own legend and stories of sea creatures and dragons

More interestingly, their description of the creatures are similar to eachother
And they havent communicated with eachother alot on those ancient ages too

I think mythology is cool, but I'm going to let the world's greatest minds fret about problems that matter. After they cure cancer, then they can see if dragons and werewolves exist.

And hey, on a side note, before the 1500's, at least in the West, those were the Dark Ages. A period of mass retardation. It goes both ways buddy. They believed in dragons, sure. And they also believed the earth was flat, the sun orbited the earth, people across the Atlantic had mixed up body parts (faces on their stomach), among countless other ridiculous things. So before you run out and say "They saw dragons", think about the other things they thought too.

That is interesting, but there is also a pretty simple explanation for it. The sea, to our ancestors, was a massive void of the unknown. So obviously that becomes dangerous (if only to keep little kids away from it). Sort of like Urban Legends are now-a-days.
Combine that with the likelihood that at least a few civilizations found a few fossils, and you have massive creatures. If they were smart enough to think "Hmm, this freakishly huge skull looks kind of like that iguana or snake," you have the Dragon (since fire is scary), or the sea serpent (since there has to be a dragon for the water).

I am not saying it is impossible that there were dragons and sea serpents, just that there is a reasonable explanation of their creation.

I'm sorry(actually... no, I'm not, but that's a good start for a sentence, isn't it?) to break your idea of our science system, which in your words doesn't allow dragons to exist and discredit anyone who finds proof
unfortunatelly science in this world only works with evidence(real evidence, not only deductions, deductions make theories, they can explain things, but not proof something)
and there has been no evidence for dragons so far
ofcourse your deduction could lead you to the conclusion that all the drunken sailors and highly imaginative people of that time were right, and today's science is blind for not seeing the obvious proof in a fake sceleton in a dubbed indian "news report"... hm... actually you could believe that... it wouldn't change my opinion about you crazy person a bit

people who spent way too much time in their lives never getting out of a classroom to evade the confrontation with the real world spent our tax money on dragons and other silly things and wrote many books about it only to come to one conclusion(I'm sure you can read them in your local library), which I, in my humble greatness, can sum up for you: people threw all the evil things(parts of a snake, fire, etc) together to impress people and to make people afraid
kinda like the misuse of religion, but religion had an intelligent man at the beginning and the bunch of idiots, with their own objectives, managed(and still manage) to produce enough slightly disabled brainwaves, with their want-to-be cunning minds, to misinterprete words to make them justify more or less every next idiotic thought someone had
so... myth creatures are the exact opposide(from the origin, the goal is still more or less the same): idiots create them and intelligent people end the line of believers

where are you standing in the line?
