PCI vs APG

Can I switch a PCI video card for a APG one?

In the same slot, no. You need to have an AGP slot on the motherboard.

It's the other way around
AGP has more bandwith. Also because it's a dedicated bus for the graphics card, instead of sharing the same bus with other cards

Unless you mean the new PCIexpress. That bus has twice the bandwith as AGP, but applications don't really need that nowadays. So the performance increase is marginal at the moment

My brother's computer is PCI express and he gets really crazy framerates. That might be due to his graphix card though.

Yes, it's because he quite obviously has a good video card and good hardware.

As mentioned above, PCI-E doesn't make a big diff nowadays.
