PCI vs APG
Can I switch a PCI video card for a APG one?

No. They are different slots

In the same slot, no. You need to have an AGP slot on the motherboard.

It's the other way around
AGP has more bandwith. Also because it's a dedicated bus for the graphics card, instead of sharing the same bus with other cards Unless you mean the new PCIexpress. That bus has twice the bandwith as AGP, but applications don't really need that nowadays. So the performance increase is marginal at the moment Last edited by 8-4-7-2; 24th Apr 2005 at 02:57 PM. |

My brother's computer is PCI express and he gets really crazy framerates. That might be due to his graphix card though.

Yes, it's because he quite obviously has a good video card and good hardware.
As mentioned above, PCI-E doesn't make a big diff nowadays.
