SMP is the ability that allows dual cpu's to run in parallel. q3 duz it n jus wondered if there was anyplans in any of the updates for support

Highly unlikely, I'm afraid. Multiple processors still aren't all that common. Between the fact that your ordinary computer user is completely unaware that there *is* such a thing as SMP, and that the most common gaming platform, Windows 9x, doesn't support SMP, the numbers just aren't there.
In order to make use of multiple threading and the like, more reworking of the code would have to take place than Epic would like. |
