New BU Poll: Pick a Level

What better way to decide what new maps will be featured at FragBU than to let you decide! We've put up a new BU poll where you can select from five highly-rated levels. Links are provided to each of them, so you can check 'em out first before voting. The top two levels will be added to our Ketnar MotherShip server rotation.

Hurry and get your vote in, as we'll close this poll by Thursday to give people an opportunity to download the winners in time to play FragBU this Friday night!

Any chance of adding in some vCTF maps?

...As for the given choices: I'll check them out before voting

Exclamation Great for TDM as well aparently.

Has to be Goose. It's a superb map and puts a lot of the retail maps to shame.

Agree. Goose is...just simply one of the best TDM maps out right now.

Checked them out. Here's a first impression:
* DM-Goose2K4: castle map with a good mix of wide and narrow area's, corridors and rooms and a good amount of z-axis. Weapon balance seems like it should, items are at good position, and so on. Without a doubt a beautifull DM map that's well worth downloading, even if it isn't picked for the server
* CTF-Arrakis: the theme is based on Frank Herbert's Dune, which gives a good bonus for theme. On the gameplay side: the 'base' is just a room with 4 entrances, which means that the flags will usually be out somewhere in the field. Not a bad map, but nothing outstanding either
* DM-Kitchen2K4: the problem with those 'Honey, I shrunk the players' maps is that it always favours the long range weapons. This one does it too, making the map just a struggle for control of the lightning gun or (even better on this map) the classic sniper rifle, and camping...lots of camping
* AS-Damnation_r: this one gets my vote. Not because UT has 'just' 6 AS-maps, but because this map can easily match the skill level of the retail maps. There's a good variety of tactics and strategies for each objective, and it's finished with a more than decent theme. Bot skill is also good, so you won't regret a download
* ONS-RapaNui: the theme for this map is absolutely beautifull, and it's not too much at the cost of FPS. It's too bad that the gameplay isn't as perfect as its eye candy. The node setup is like Torlan, but this map plays completely different because the side nodes are further away and the terrain is open in the middle and has narrow valleys on the sides. My biggest problem with these map is the leviathans: each first node has one! They're balanced due to the height differences in that area, but a team loses as soon as their first node goes down...

I would vote but ALL of those maps suck

edit: ok except for Goose. But dammit Pete, pick some better ****ing maps. Seriously! AS-Damnation? Are you serious? FFS look on Atari. There are FAAAAAAAAAR better AS maps. Example, AS-Vindication, AS-ThrustV2, AS-Confexia.... ugh. There are also way better CTF maps than Arakis too, like Naelir and Aedes. Im not voting for **** untill there are better options.

I'm with Taleweaver - can we solicit the community regarding adding vctf to the ketnar server?
