UT Maps - Community best suggested

There are a very lot of map that i consider really great (especially for the DM and CTF gametype), but i will submit to your opinion only 3, the ones that immediately "pop up" in my head while thinking about a specific gametype

Rumble Pitt
An old map , but i always remember it when thinking about DM , for the "being stuck in asylum" feeling that i always had when playing it, it was a big map that was better with a good amount of bots more than just a classic X axis fight.

CTF-ProjectX2
I remember the first time i discovered this map, it was so great to play it with a lot of bots. A rocky open field, several routes, and two Tribes-like bases. Really a good CTF map for me.

DOM-Synchonicity
I downloaded very few DOM maps , but from the few i had this one was a keeper for me, i liked the gameplay and the several routes offered for constant action.

@Nahand suggestions

-I support the choice of DM-Deck40 , it was the last map i downloaded and it is a great one.
-About CTF-Phobos][ , i agree , this is a keeper and should be on the list.
-Same situation for CTF-Denovo , the quake3 feeling of the map (reinforced by Rorshach texture talent) created a very enjoyable CTF map, i vote for this one too.

-I always liked DM-Relics , one of the very best Angelheart map (along with his great DM-2019 ), i agree that it should be on the list
-i do not know this DM-AbandonedCity][ , i will download it but i will certainly not have enough time to have an objective opinion on it.

DM-2019
It ran very smoothly on my not very high tech system (a surprise for me) , and is really an UT masterpiece on my opinion. I heard that he made an UT2k3/2k4 version of that map. But despite that Angleheart stated it as a beta this UT version is already awesome (with bots and unreal monsters ) and should be downloaded by everyone that want to see what UT can look like even if there is a few chance to encounter this map online.

Sweet! The UT version of Dm-2019! I thought I've never be able to view this one!


Btw: ctf-projectx.. hmm.. I've had some boring bot games on that one. Took too damn long to cap flags.

DM-Amon by Hourences

I've always liked the visuals, sound and flow of this one, and at Uni it used to drive one of my housemates mad, 'cos I tended to win.

I agree, DM-Amon is indeed a very good map.

By any chance , do you know a link to that unreal map better than the UT version ?
The only "blade runner" inspired map i found for unreal is this one (it works on Ut by the way when you rename the dmbladeruner224.unr to dm-bladerunner224.unr) and has nothing in common with dm-2019 (minus the blade runner inspiration of course)

CTF-Aquamarina and CTF-AquamarinaX32 (I personally prefer the first one). Totally awesome maps by Chicoverde. That guy is amazong. The visuals, sounds, and gameplay are all top-notch. Amazingly atmospheric, even for a CTF map.

CTF-Big-CASTLE][. An ENORMOUS, EXTREMELY-DETAID map which has great gameplay too. The only problem I have with it is the lag, but that's just because I'm still running a 32MB card. Most people should be able to run this without problems. It's a great map.

CTF-Conquest. Love this one. Excellent gameplay; very tough to get the flag. You MUST strategize with this map.

CTF-Eagles. Oh man the gameplay soars in this map. While the visuals aren't great, you will have loads of fun trying to get the enemy flag. The lifts aren't as easy of a solution as they may seem; bring loads of bodyguards with you when you storm in.

CTF-FIFA. Ahahhahaha, for pure entertainment, this one gets on my list. Sure, it may be totally mindless, but it is one of the most fun maps I have ever played.

CTF-Horus. Wow, amazing architecture, excellent gameplay. There's not much wrong with this piece of work. A must-have.

CTF-NalisAzure][. Damn, what a fine map. Detailed visuals; VERY detailed in a nice Nali setting. But the map is small; however, that doesn't mean you can't load it up with bots for some serious carnage. Not as easy as it may seem to win. Good stuff.

CTF-ProjectX and ProjectX2. Already discussed. Must have both of these.

CTF-Shadar. Another by Chicoverde; this is one of the best terrainmaps I have ever played. It lags a bit at points while your rig is still caching all of it if you are still low-to-medium-end like me, but this is hardly a setback.

CTF-Stronghold and CTF-Stonghold][. Totally awesome maps. The run to the bases may not be incredibly satisfying, but once you get inside with a team of bots with you, and the enemy base is loaded, get ready for some serious firestorming.

CTF-UnderDark by Shock Systems (geniuses). Hands down the best gameplay I have ever had against bots in CTF. This one is a masterpiece. And the visuals are astounding. Just a few big HOMs are all you may notice, but they are in out-of-the-way places.

CTF-VandoraLE101 (Wrath of Vandora). Outstanding visuals, great gameplay. I love this map. Get it. Now.

Ah, i thought that i had missed an Angelheart map
The unreal map was very big, but a bit too much for an "open" map, i would have loved to see more details inside the buildings (damned prisonner bot).

I think the suggestions should be kept , as some of those posts had a map preview that can be usefull for people browsing this thread.

-CTF-Aquamarina/CTF-AquamarinaX32 : those are good maps , i enjoyed them, but the x32 needs lot of bots to be enjoyable.
-CTF-Conquest : I support this choice , it is a keeper.
-CTF-FIFA : i disagree , when i had it, the map was fun 5 minutes for me then i deleted it, it should not reach the top list.
-CTF-Horus. Tons of memories are coming in my brain : great map !
-CTF-NalisAzure][. I like every Shinigami maps since i enjoyed his arenas from RocketArenaUT.
-CTF-Shadar. Very good , should be on the final list in my opinion.
-CTF-UnderDark : greatness , definitively a good map for the list.

I have not played the other maps suggested yet (i will for some of them that appealed my eyes) , so i will say nothing.

Eeeh about the bladerunner map for UNREAL.

Tip: DON'T download this piece of crap.

It has HUGE OPEN AREAS, it lags incredibly, it has weapons/stuff randomly thrown around, awfull lighthing, ... it's a waste of space. Honest.. believe me.
Games on this map don't look like they'll be a lot of fun.

Well, that's just it. I can't possible look upon this level as a deathmatch one.
It could be a single player level, for sure.
Although...

It's very cramped, true.

That is why i enjoy it with few bots and monster madness set for Skaarj only : best way to play DM-2019 in my opinion.

Sad that Headshot disappeared in the internet Oblivion, it was one of my favorite map ressource with good reviews.

DM-Q3PlaceofManyDeaths
Probably my favorite map from the Quake3 retail arenas (it is Q3DM4) and i am pleased by this recreation of it, despite the unfortunate disappearance of the organics decos that would have been difficult to do in the ut engine.

Some Z axis fights break the classic X axis combat, giving it more intensity (in fact, what is a good Quake3 map) for a UT map.
Certainly a map for the list in my opinion

DM-Empowered][
A good small Q3 inspired map, Non stop action in this map with few bots. That is all i ask
the first version "DM-Empowered" featured too small room and halls to move correctly.
DM-Organic
I remember this map won a mapping contest , just in front of DM-Faith. I always liked the eye candies of this huge map, lots of places to go.
Perhaps it does not flow like a top map, but certainly a must dowload for the architecture.
DM-Faith
Very original map, all in Z axis with lots of invisible platform. Bots played it very well too (i was a bit surprised ,as i thought it would have been difficult for them), i liked this map "what is this unreal place" feeling.
DM-Frantic
A great map in my opinion, my bots sessions on it had always been enjoyable.
There is a good layout and architecture too.
