Flamethrower Alt fire, is there a trick for guaranteeing high damage?

When I get lit up by Flame Alt it just blinds me for a bit.

Is it supposed to just be a blinding tool, or is there a trick for getting big damage out of it?

Use lots of juice for an instakill. I believe its damage capability fades over time.

i find it usefull using the alt fire with FT when going into hack a gen thats in a room and you know someone is following .. just lay a track of that then when the time is right give them the real deal and they are surely soon to drop
