Phantom,to be or not to be

We all know the phantom by now,if you don't you can look it up at infinium labs,but my concern even if it's going to be released,with it's hardware can it compete with a pc or the upcoming ps3 and x-box3,my guess --------->big nono. It does have everything hooked up if it's real,and and it alreay has an impressive library of games,all pc games but with pc hardware ever evolving how can one stand alone console product keep up with forthcoming games. Now they even made an x-box guy,forgot his name ,president of the phantom,to look after it's development process but will it help. No,the phantom is doomed,doomed i tell ya

The Phantom is a scheme for ripping off stupid investors.

If it ever actually sees release it will tank worse than the 3DO.

I remember there being a website posted here on BuF awhile ago that gave some evidence showing that the company didnt even exist.

There was either nothing under infiniumlabs or it was a company making someone completely different from electronic devices. And if you look up where the company is supposely located you'll find that there is nothing there in that location, for the company itself and its warehouse.

The guy who started up the company has supposely had a ton of failures trying to start up companies in the past, doing all sorts of different things.

There is a portable PC console coming out and its not the Phantom, its APEXTreme, made by APEX the DVD player makers... And I expect it to fumble coz they cant possibly keep it up with the ever-increasing requirements of PC games for more than 1 or 2 years...

I have a APEX DVD player, good dvd player, but yeah I agree with you there GeneticFreak, I can't see it last long for PC Games. Unless there is something more to it then that. I had a feeling this would happen though, I think we are going to see a big come back of the crappy console era we saw of the early 90's. Only a few consoles really stood out as being great, like the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Playstatation, and Saturn. But then we had a bunch of other consoles, that didnt do very well, they were ok, but either to expensive, didnt have a good library of games or just plain sucked. Such as the Jaguar, Neo-Geo, 3DO, virtual boy, and a bunch of other stuff.

I Just wonder what they're going to show at e3 this year in may as press explained the phantom is going to make it's first appearance there,i wonder if it's just an empty box with 10 massive pc's running under the floor to show it's capabilities

Wow. Apex making a console? Oh lord.

I have an APEX DVD player and TV. The TV is nice, but the DVD player is starting to die after two years of use (where I have toshibas that still work great, from back when DVD players were "new" technology, and divix was still out in force.)
