So what's next for Sentry Studios?

Please don't take this the wrong way! INF 2.9 is everything we all hoped it could be. Great balance, great maps, great fun. All that and a bucket of fried chicken. More than worth the wait, better than pretty much any commercial game I've ever played.

And obviously, Sentry Studios deserves our kudos, respect, admiration, etc. Great job, guys! And they probably deserve a good bit of time off, too...

I'm just wondering what Sentry Studios has planned next? Some time off - let the accolades come rolling in for 2.9? Or do you already have something in the planning stages? Or maybe even further along than that? Just curious...

We appreciate the compliments man!

We're currently brainstorming & debating over what exactly to do next. Which gives us time to decompress a bit as well. And just play 2.9 along with the rest of you.

Thanks cleve, but no I didn't do the sig. Our former texture artist Razorflower is the one who put that sig together for me, using images I gave him of Atoll, and that lion head. He's a damned good 2D artist, contributed some great textures to 2.9, including much of what you see in Skopje & Mostar.

EDIT: I did do my own avatar though.

If we are talking the UT engine, SS can disband. I refuse to believe that anything better can be done

Sometime next year a port to 2k3 would be great, but dont rush it. I'll have to upgrade my box

Actually I don't fear that SS will rush anything

We've only waited 2 years for a 'minor' () update ... imagine how long we'd have to wait before anything 'new' using a 'better' engine would be done. It would probably UT2010 by that time. (not that I'd mind though )

SS is going to take a very long nap. after that, they're going to finish all the damn weapons, functioning properly, all attachments included, in game, ready to rock, for the UT2k6 port of infiltration (which will be renamed "Advanced Milsim Duck Hunt 3.0") and then yurch will release RAv4 which will include the use of pick-up trucks in game as mobile "gunships" while you secure the Optical Data Cube (an upgrade to the current CD) filled with porn and illegal wares.

Rattus. No. No no no. The Steyr AUG will never, ever see the light of day.

Cleve, Alpha_9 has had that sig for ages. Fine time to notice it

Other than that, Yay for the future of Infiltration, I'm eager to see what these guys think up for the future.

The Company is not called Manlicher, it is Steyr-Mannlicher, and it is NOT pronounced MAN-LICKER! the CH is pronounced like in LoCH Ness. (imagine you got anything in your throat and you want to get rid of it... so almost coughing...) but definatly not like CK.

So here it is in phonetics:

Steyr-Mannlicher [shteyer - munn-lee-cher]

well, there is no phonetic sign for the CH, at least i didn't find any, so heres a link, just for info:

@ Cleve NTT

The Multi-thickness Grid in Alpha 9's Avatar?
Step 1: Open UnrealEd. (UT's map editor.)
Step 2: Press PrtScn (Screen capture.)
Step 3: Paste into image editor of choice.

@ SentryStudios

Thank you fine gents for releasing what is, in my opinion the best total conversion for Unreal Tournament.
