Actually it isn't.
Sure it kinda filters out 'bad words' but it failed remarkably yesterday. Something's pretty wrong when you cannot post ****, yet you can post links to the ****** man, ******* and other ****.

I suppose trying to put all offensive URLs in the forum censor's taboo list is futile. That's what moderators are for, and perhaps there's even something like common sense in most forum posters to fall back on.

Lets go through this...
Theres no way to block links to offensive image links, or block offensive attachments. Blocking the url won't do anything, as the image may not be hosted in the same place as the origional, and it's not like it's hard to rename the file.
Sad as it is, theres no way to block stuff like that.

That's true Sel & Mychaeel, but you could at least try to block the originals (url(s) and ip(s)). You cannot block someone swearing if he really wishes (through vb-tricks / obscure english words), but you can block the most common words, which is what is done.

vB exploits
Actually, from what I've heard, vB3 now blocks words that use vB codes to bypass swear filters. But you're right, it'd be good to block the origional urls/IPs, because at least that would do something.
