Here's what I got from the Help, but I might be blind but I can't do it either...

To lock a computer in a domain environment
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
Click Lock Computer.
Windows displays the Computer Locked dialog box. Your system is now locked, preventing everyone except you or a system administrator from unlocking your system and viewing any open files or programs.

Note

To unlock your computer, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, type your password, and then click OK.

if you REALLY wanted security you'd password your own account and move all the fun stuff off the All Users folder.

If you get the task manager then you're probably using XP-Home. A quick look at your System screen would verify that. Help suggests the Logo + L key combo, which again deals with User Accounts and not an actual lockdown.

So, you're telling me I'm supposed to get something else then the Windows Task Manager screen when I press ctrl+alt+del?

If there is only one user account only the task manager will show up when you Ctrl+Alt+Del. None of the other options are available until multiple accounts are present.

i have other user accounts

up until last week, i was the only person using my computer, its always brought up task manager when ever i push ctrl alt delete

edit: im wondering if that option only becomes available when the computer is on a network

Not sure if this has been posted before, but you can also get the Windows Security box in XP Home, as well - although it's not meant to be there. Typing "control userpasswords2" will pop up the XP Pro user manager, which lets you require Ctrl-Alt-Del to log on.
