The Third Reich: Day Four
We begin a new day in the TTR media blitz. Today's update brings you two new maps and some good news for Dutch or Belgian dialup users. There are a few TTR version 1.2S cd's left for players from those two countries. All you have to do is send an email to arjan@totalconversions.com and give your real name, nickname and address.
Merkers (by TheThirdMan) is a very versatile map offering large open areas and intense indoor areas, The saltmine of Merkers in Thüringen was used for the safe keeping of money and gold from the Reichsbank. Shortly before the end of World War II, when the 90th division under the command of General Eddy found the gold reserves of the Third Reich, in a saltmine near the village of Merkers. The axis have transferred their gold to this remote location, because the Russians were rapidly advancing across the eastern plain. The last map we're going to show you is Nuenen (by BoB & LegalAssasin), Nuenen is a highly detailed destroyed city map. Nuenen is a nighttime map named after the small town the 101st Airborne tried to capture together with British armour. After encountering an enemy better prepared then expected, to be precise a german Panzerdivision that had just set up their defences, the allies were forced to fall back. The next day they attacked once again, but the town was empty of German resistance. They soon met another group of British armour who had broken the line and almost cut off the german Panzerdivision. This map is based on that situation, you will play the battle that could have happened if the 101st AB had made their second assault the same night. |
