Koos Galleon - Redeemer

Just our of curiosity does anyone know how to get to the Redeemer in the crows nest in the Koos Galleon DM level?

I see and elevator from the crows nest but it seems to stay at the top, and I am not sure how to activate it, if that is really possible.

shoot the lamp at the bottom of the mast.
