From the original
Unloaded was first a mod for Unreal. After UT was released, we have seen many types of mods, but never one like Unloaded. Rather than trying out a new genre, Unloaded tries out a new view: top down.

Getting dizzy
The camera and controls take a while to get used to, but not too long. Five to ten minutes perhaps and you'll be a natural with the controls. The camera takes the longest to get used to. For some, it might take 5 minutes, for others, a while longer. Once you get used to these two things, it's time to have some fun.

Shoot and reload
The weapons look fantastic, and are as fun to look at as they are to use. Lots of variety, and each one has it's strengths and weaknesses. Here are the weapons I found, although there could be more.

Chainsaw - Your first weapon
Flame-thrower - Kills everything immediately within it's radius
HandCannon - Shoots three types of rounds, each dealing heavy damage
Rocket Launcher - Deals heavy damage upon contact
Dispersion Cannon - Same weapon from Unreal, does medium damage but recharges

Play it
Now onto the game itself. The mod's levels are not too linear, but not too open either, expect one map - Downtown. For every other map, you won't be lost and get frustrated easily since finding the right track requires only a few minutes of searching. When you begin, you'll go through maps blasting away enemies, pushing switches, and basically just having fun.

The good stuff
Unloaded is very fun to play. The graphics are bright and excellent and the sounds are superb as well.

The bad stuff
The worst things about the mod is comprised of three things: camera, menu, and difficulty. The mod is quite hard at first, but once you get a gun, it becomes a lot more fun. The menu needs to be worked on, but I can look past it. Finally, we come to the camera. Many top-down games have trouble with the camera, and Unloaded is no exception. Sometimes, floors on top obscure floors on the bottom.

Finals
Even with these problems, Unloaded is a very engrossing mod. A few tweaks are needed here and there, but I think this mod is one you won't want to miss.
