Right I need to get something off my chest, yea agian, and as unfortantly I dont want anyone in my family to know how bad it is I'm gonna say it here, feel free to flame and whatever.......

Thing is my knee is really bad ..... I was just up untill 6 today and I spent half the day in bed fearing if I got up and started moving around on it I would be bad for work. Work is however the biggest problem I know that last night is because of work, I had to clime all over some barrels to change the guiness and then jump down form them, after that my knee was bad for the rest of the night. I really need the money from work and lets be damm truthfull about it there are no other jobs on the horizon as I live in one of the unemployment capitals of the UK. The doctor has told me I need at least 6 weeks off work but I know full well that if I do that I will probably be let off. Which brings me to another problem do I pay BUBA? I mean my dad worked within the NHS and he has installed in me a tremendus fear and loathing of the whole idea of BUBA I'd feel like a traitor doing it. I suppose there is a little fear that the specialist will say I can't work no more and as I have no money left after my recent patch of unemployment I can not affoard not to work. Agh what the hell should I do? The money for the concoltation is about 2 weeks worth of my disposable income so that really aint the problem but if I need a CAT scan I simply can't affoard it but that one concoltation bumps the relesution of this forward by about 14 months (A 18 month waiting list to see someone I ask you)....... ah well whatever I needed to do something as truthfully I'm feeling mighty blue ..... take your shots..........

I have no idea what you are talking about but my extensive experience with my knee tells me that you shouldn't stop over pain. The pain just doesn't magically go away, so you could just as well be working / having fun or doing whatever you would otherwise be doing.

Your case could very well be different, but generally speaking the knee isn't something you can just 'fix'. I've had quite some pics taken from my knee and it was interesting and the docs went 'oh there is this' and 'oh there is that' but in the end, there was nothing that could help.

Well nothing is a bit over the top, here are the things I learned:
- After you have overpressurised (<-- hope thats a word) the knee let it rest for 24 hours
- Don't ever stand still, either sit or slowly walk
- Don't fully extend the leg
- Slowly train your upper leg in becoming stronger, 3 times a week with plenty of rest

Those things worked for me, pain still isn't gone but my knee won't "lock up" anymore like it would in the past. So I can do whatever I want at a small price.

But again, your case could very well be different. Good luck.
As for the CAT scan, I wouldn't do it. Sure they would see the problem better, but the chances of finding a solution are still pretty slim.
