Making everyone look bad

Troll, that's the exact reason I don't wear it. If I'm gonna make someone look bad in a less-than-sporting moment, I'm gonna make me look bad, not me and 10000 other people.

And just like any unofficial organization that swells to the numbers PuF has... you're gonna lose some quality.

Please don't take my word as the final say. Sometimes I state my opinions strongly and word them so that they sound like a final say, but that's just my conviction behind them. I certainly won't chew anybody's äss if they don't agree with me.

It's just that we've heard some complaints about folks in PuF being whiners. As long as PuF'ers have good sportsmanship and behave (reasonably of course), I'll go to bat for anyone wearing the tag (cept Gouryella).

I wear the |PuF tag when I foray online, but it is rare for me (to play online). I was playing a little while ago with RubeOne on a public server where he was being hounded cuz he liked using the flak cannon, but the person who was hounding him was someone who was spamming the shock rifle & I don't care what weapon you're spamming, if you do that you're a hypocrite IMO. So I told the offending person to shut their mouth. Thankfully, the person was smart enough to quit their harrassment. Ok, if you're wondering where this is going, it's that I think that's also what the PuF tag also stands for. RubeOne is my bud, so ofcourse I'm gonna help him out, but if I see a stranger who is being harrassed but is still keeping their cool, I tend to back them up. There's been a lot of talk about etiquette, & bashing llamas, but no one has mentioned if they would help someone they don't know who's being harrassed. I think it's one of those things that is important when I'm wearing the PuF tag.

I mutter 'bs' on occaision... usually those plays where you have an amped flak, and your computer is giving visual feedback that you popped some guy in the back 5 times with it.. and he still doesn't die

either that, or when Krav gets 4 headshots in a row (I can't believe he got DSL now ..argh!!).

If I get lagged real bad, I will say "lag" or "laaaaaag" .. but nothing more. Usually, it's not just me, and everyone else expereinces it at the same time (usually on Swine).

I do have a temper at times, and sometimes it gets the better of me. I usually quit UT before I erupt though.. so if you see me whining, or getting angry, just slap me and tell me to hush ;P

And gg's tonight Boom.. you are getting WAAAAAY better Only nailed me like 5 times in a row on Terra.. you miniwhore =)

Bodkins has a very good point, standards differ for people.
I've played with PuF's who asked me not to spawn kill in a DM game. I obliged but at the same time I thought what the hell is he thinking? Spawn killing in DM? There's no such thing?
I have the utmost respect for most all of you, but I dunno, you guys might be taking this too seriously. There is nothing we can do. A clan can't stop somebody from putting on it's tag, all they can do is make it known, and do their best to keep a good name by playing fair. Similaily we can't do squat about it either.
Perhaps I feel so because some of what I've read here about standards seems to apply to me. I'm all for fair play. I'm against cheating, and whining and that sort of stuff, but as someone said we are all human.

I'd like to officially apologize about my complaining about my connection. I have no idea if anyone bothers to associate my online handle with PuF...but either way, I definately think I made a poor reputation for myself over the last month because of Cox. Chances are, if you've seen me in a server sometime in the last month or so, you've seen the phrase "COX SUX ASS!!!" or something to that affect.

A few of you understand the frustration that I've been going through, but a week or so ago, I realized that it's very unfair, no matter how bad MY connection is, to yell in public. Since then, I've tried to keep my comments to a minimal "I hate cox" after I reconnect to the server, but at this point, everyone pretty much knows my connection lix nutz, and I TRY not to say anything.

I have no idea if I'm part of the percieved problem here, but I felt the need to make the apology anyways, to any of you who may have had to put up with my frustration. Hopefully DSL will be kinder to me in March when I move.

Soul. You don't need a hair shirt, really. If you had a tag that read "CoxSuxOrIWouldOwnYou" and were serious, then maybe .... Anyone that doesnt understand how HORRIBLE it is to face technical difficulties in a game like UT, hasn't played UT very long. And if they are smooth low pingers that DO understand and are still "annoyed" by the suffering of some poor Cox customer, screw em. I have NEVER heard you utter as much as a single sylable AT anyone because of your connection. If you somehow personalized it to another player (I dont know how you would do that) then it would be different. You havent and dont. And if someone does think that you are part of the problem (which I doubt), trust me, there are even MORE people that think well of you.

I have seen you (thanks to Cox) Blair Witching in a corner while Chim was trying to shove rockets under your tail (Skaarj). I dont suppose it would be reasonable to like that sort of thing much. Someone like Boom might be able to laugh that off. He is good natured. But have you seen the way he walks? Perambulatory Neurosis at it's worse!! Cute butt though.

Yeah, SC, Bodkins is right ... although you are prone to bouts of complaining about lag (and I would be too if I were getting disconnected 2 or 3 times per map in clan matches) never have you directed your complaints at anyone or tried to "cheapify" someone's frag on you by using it as an excuse.

BTW, I saw something neat on Swine last night. I think it was Apoc who said it. Someone had been fragged by him and they typed "bs". (Which, IMHO, is the rudest f'ing thing you can do, you're pretty much telling the person you think they got a luck shot, OR you're saying something tantamount to "you cheat"). And he replied "BS? Beautiful Shot? Why, thank you!"

I was playing on Lava the other night on Blat's server. I spawned at our base right by *nameless* the flag carrier. I can choose pistol or xloc. I chose xloc and tf'ed him as he was tring to shock me.

He says "That was lame". Then he says "Get some skills PuF".

I hit my "W" key, which says "Well WAH bloody WAH! You died, respawn and play!"

Shut him up. I wasn't gonna put up with that.

I was playing on a team with him and another NWA guy the other night. I got two caps which were too quick and easy, so I switched teams. Those m0's ended up winning with their team and I didn't cap again...came close though. Complimented both of them at the end. They were certainly good players. B@stard snipers, both of them.

m0rety, that would be Himura. I have nightmares about Himura's sniper rifle.

And yeh...pay no attention to the other dude. He *will* leave the server if he gets TF'd enough.


For anyone who is sick and tired of others telling them how to play the game, what weapons to use, and whining about said weapon choice, you MUST read '79's Weapons Rant. Keep in mind that '79 is probably the most viciously witty individual in the UT scene, and I have had to censor a word or two

If I have the flak cannon, i will shoot you with it.
If I run out of flak I will find some more flak and shoot you with it.
If you are typing, I will kill you. If you want to type, go ****in load Mavis Beacon.
If I have quad and redeemer and you are typing, I will kill you with it.
If you say you will "brb phone", I will find you and kill you each and every time.
If you complain about my weapon selection, I will hit the "You suck!" macro.
If you tell me to use a different weapon, I wont do it, I will repeatedly kill you with the same weapon.
