When lying flat on the ground trying to fire the AKSMU it sometimes will not work at all. I have just experienced this in lying down mood, is this a bug or it is suppose to work like this.

Well im not quite sure, the team has tryed to impliment the fact, that fiering an SMG when lying down can be troublesome, mainly cus u have to strech youre arms out in order to do so, so it should wobble a bit more than when standing or crouching, but i havent had it not fire in prone.

Prone Firing

It seems to me that you can not fire any weapon while prone while your moving. Even if you not actually moving. For instance if your up against the tire of a vehicle and are pushing forward, you will not move, but you can't fire you weapon because you are "moving forward".

I may be wrong but I think that's what I've found in my limited experience laying down on the battlefield. Though everytime I lay down I must be pissing the bots off 'cause they keep stepping on me. I figured they didn't want me to be lazy or something. :D

AKSMU

Just so I got I right, what you are saying Mac_Fodder is that if I am lying down on the ground and trying to move and fire at the same time it will not work? I haven’t connected that the moving and firing when I am flat on the ground would affect each other. Your problem with the bots stepping on you, well, I had that one to but I experienced this to stop with the latest patch.

Firing and Moving

Yes, You can not fire and move while prone. I just reread my message and I was missing the word "not". Which explains your clarifing post Sport. I edited the message to fix it.
As for the firing from prone it sort of makes sense if you think about it. IRL you would actually be holding the weapon accross you arms except fro maybe a side arm or HK69, but you would not be able to fire them from this position. I just don't think the animations are done to show that you are not holding the weapon in a non usable way.

As for the bots as 2.82 I really haven't had the problem either. I had just read BP older realtoon though and memory of being know as Floor Matt_Fodder to my bots returned. :D

seen this with other rifles

The discussion of movement affecting one's
ability to fire while prone is very interesting,
and would certainly explin this issue. The
lengths to which the creators go to make the game realistic are impressive.

I do not use the AKSMU, but do use SIG sniper rifle and the M-16. I have had many situations where I could not fire these weapons while prone, with the result usually being getting shot where I am, or standing up and getting shot.

Glad to know you guys were able to figure it out without us saying anything.. :) You're right in that you can't fire while moving for the simple reason you need your arms to do so at any reasonable speed. We're keeping things simple in that respect. However, the animations don't show that very well yet, so we hope to change that in the near future.

no, really

Actually, I have had the AKSMU not fire at all when lying down, and i was not moving at the time. . .

I have the feeling that I wasn't laying on the trigger long enough for the lag to catch up if you know what i'm saying.

Like how if you go click click you get nothing but if you go click----(hold)---- you can get nice pop pop pop.

If that's sufficiently clear.

But I have had the distinct impression that my AKSMU was hanging on me. :(
