New game type idea

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Since Infiltration is kept life-like, I figured it's only natural it have it's own life-like game mode. I was thinking of something along the lines of 3 to 4 way capture the flag.
Of course, it wouldn't necissarely (sp) be the same. Instead of flags, each team would have an item they have to get. For example, lets say one team are terrorists. They have to get something unique for them, maybe a bomb, and bring it back to their base. The object could either be placed in enemy bases, or randomly placed in the map. An even better idea would be that each team would cycle through things to get, so they could build something. i.e the terrorists have to get different parts of their bomb. The first team to complete it wins. Alternitively, instead of winning it just gives them a big advantage, i.e. the parts you get were to build a mortar that they can use against the enemy.
Also, you should add an "activate" key. Something you could use to do stuff like opening doors. It isn't very realistic if doors open automatically for you when you walk up to them.
Anyway, can't wait for the next version! :)

I think it should have one. I know guy are more common in spec op than girls but take a look at the israely military or to KAFOR guard ;)

About new skin. I think it would be interessting for a tactical point of view to add civilian character. Because in most contempory military operation they are involved.

Theres a mutator (or mod, since its pretty big) that makes CTF into more than two flags, four flags on specialized maps. Get it at PU, and I would like to see some Inf maps with multi-team-flag capturing. :)

Improvement is modifying the wheel.

hehe brings back the OLD infiltration hehe. (there used to be an old CTF mode called capture the cd)

On a side note - I'm starting to believe that CS, and all the other "terrorist" games are warping the minds of our youth. Due to these games and perhaps the media's subtle work the term "terrorist" automatically conjures up images of middle eastern men waving Ak47s through the air whilst building weapons of mass destruction for thier evil plots. If only the worlds politcal situation was as simple as your typical G.I joe cartoon. It is true though that many terrortist attacks that we know about are the work of middle eastern groups (or at least the more public ones) , but sometimes i cant help but feel that there's some form of intolerance and racial sterotyping being cultivated. Perhaps it's too dificult form a gameplay perspective to try and create "terrorist" characters from deverise backgrounds. One of the things i like about INF is that fact that it's good old fahioned warfare, but i digress.----end of pointless rant----

Civilan characters could be cool, but might be a resource hog for UT/INF.

I think that INF could use a new game type, but i haven't thought or found one that i'd feel deserves mention yet... Personally i'd love to see a single player or Co-op version of INF that was similar to Rainbow 6's Terrorist hunt, or mission objective based co-op gamestype.

Activate Key

There is already such a key, and it has been in the engine since Unreal. It's called the Grab key, and you can bind it in the console. If mappers start to use it frequently, Inf should make it bindable in the options menus.
