operation : silence !
okay, I'm fed up with the noise that my PC makes, so I'm taking measures to silence it up.
what I have : Motherboard : Asus M4A79XTD EVO Processor : AMD Pheno, II x4 965 Graphics card : 8800 GT 512Mb Case : coolermaster CM 690 II advanced I've thought of going full watercooling, but the costs are areally a drawback, so I've come up with an air-cooling solution : CPU cooling : NH-D14 GPU cooling : Zalman VF1000 case cooling : 3x noctua NF-P14 FLX + 2 noctua NF-P12 PWM. I'm at a bit under 200 euros. I'm thinking of always letting the case cooling on a slow setting, so I'll never hear them and they will be enough to garantee a good airflow nonetheless. what are your experiences with trying to get a silent PC on air-cooling ? is what I'm getting totally overkill for what I need ?
